I don't usually talk much about the great love of my life, but yesterday as I was sitting on the Doctor's examination table, swinging my legs, waiting and watching my husband's furrowed brow as he read a magazine, looking 'O so fine' in his suit and tie, I thought, "I wonder how many women's husbands come to the Doctor's with them?"
I guessed probably not many and just at that moment, he looked up from the zine and said, "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen." He said it in that way and you know it wasn't just an ordinary compliment. It makes you blush and feel warm all over. He makes sure that I get them regularly, but sometimes, they're just a little more colorful than normal.
Having a chronic illness is hard on everyone, especially for those who live in the house with you, which happens to be just him and I. He sees me at my worst. He takes it when I get scared and lash out by being either grumpy, or a tearful mess. He keeps up on all of my medications and knows my symptoms better than I do. But the thing he is the best at, is making me feel cherished.
When the Doctor told me that I had an ICD, an incurable chronic disease, I felt like he also handed me a blank coloring book. I could see the pictures of all the fun things, but they had no color...no meaning. My love, gave me a great big box of Crayola Crayons, the ones that have so many colors in it they have to make-up the names. He colors my life with his love and his sacrificial giving. And when I'm too sick to color the pictures, he gladly colors them for me. I am a lucky girl, indeed.

Dar... you have a great hubs.
I cant wait to meet him.
You are cherished.
Very much.
By all the people's lives you touch.
And you colour them all.
Even on the days when you dont think you have the strength to do so... you do, just by being *you*
I love you sweets.

Yes, he is a lovely man, Darlene. My own husband is a bit detached in this respect and I found it very hard to go through my own health scare. He was caring, of course, but just not on the same page. A while later, he admitted to me that he was simply afraid. I imagine that he will always be that way, and that's okay with me.
I'm so happy that your own love is able to help you cope with the pain of what you deal with daily. You've found an angel, indeed...
Kisses for you and your hubby! And that photo is gorgeous!
-love you-
How wonderful he sounds im so happy that hes just as understanding and loving as you are.Its tough on all concerned but it makes it so much easier when your partner in life gets your struggle. Blessings to you and your gorgeous man.

I found your blog via a comment you made on Simply Wait. I am a male significant other (spouse equivalent?). For years my compliments have been turned aside by my lady, who, doubtless, doesn't think she's beautiful, or wonderful, or the best thing that's ever happened to me. Being self-effacing to that degree has, over time, tended to diminish or eliminate some of the nice things I might want to say. I still tell her I'm the luckiest guy in the world, and she still doesn't believe it.
how happy i am for you that you have found such an incredible man to love incredible you.
the picture you posted was absolutely lovely...it framed what you wrote so well. i am so touched.
I love hearing about true love...it re-affirms what I know in my own life and relationship!
What a beautiful man you have in your life. Lovely tribute & photo!

That's my daddy! :) I hope to find a man just like him someday...well...maybe not just like him...that is weird.
He sounds like a wonderful man. Mine is like that too, full of compliments and love. The best part is I know my son will be the same from hearing his father be so kind and gentle too.
Let him keep coloring your world and tell him he is Awesome--to treat you this way. And give him a big smooch!!

If Jay is right next to you when you read this, please reach over and give him a warm hug from his sis. If not...reserve one for later.
I hope he knows how much the family always lifts him up in praise when his name comes up in conversation. He is amazing. He is "man" personified. We love him because of who he is and we even love him more because he knows exactly how to love you...and care for you.
We are so grateful that he is in your life and in turn...a huge part of our lives. He is so special and has taught me many things that I carry with me on my journey.
love you Jay...
I'd like to bottle your husband's essence and clone it! What a magnificent man/human being. After the trials and tribulations of this past year, I think my faith was a bit shaken up, but it is hearts like how you have described his and the obviously huge love that you two share that helps to restore my faith in the endurance of love. The truth is we do all deserve to love and be loved in such a way, and yours now is one of the stories I shall keep tucked in closeby me as I venture out back into the world and meet new men.
Gorgeous picture...gorgeous entry. Lucky both of you. XO
How did I miss this wonderful post? Here I am backtracking looking for bead-y pictures and I find such a beautiful post that it makes me get all teary. My husband is a real keeper too and I believe they are few and far between.
You deserve every compliment he gives. Cherish them. (And start coloring!)
