"Bird of Armor"

Made of metal not able to fly

wings carved from this clump of heavy substance

hewn into the shape of something meant to soar

some cruel joke that has no understanding

standing very still waiting for the burst of wind

that is big enough to lift this load

into the sky and far away

where other birds are made by something

bigger than man

This is beautiful. You are feeling your mortality at the moment? The way you tackle illness in your life is an inspiration. Hope life is finding you resilient at the moment, much love x x x
