how are you?

Well, I'm okay. San Fran really took a lot out of me and it seems like it's taking forever to get back on my feet. Our new couches came in and they are just lovely. When you order furniture that requires choosing a fabric it is done by looking at these 12 inch pattern swatches, you really have to use your imagination. Then it takes up to 8 weeks for them to finally arrive and most of the time you've forgotten what you ordered in the first place. So, you are either in for a nice surprise, or an (OMG) what have I done! So, things are looking different in my favorite living space and now I want new curtains and I think my red wall needs to be a different shade...Oi
Good news about Mark...he finished his hardest class for the respiratory therapy program with a flying A and the professor asked him to be a student teacher for the following semesters. It is a paid position and very good for the ego *smile* [Mark, if you are reading this, I have bragging rights for birthing you] *bigger smile* Oh...and since he is taking all of these medical classes, he is realizing just how serious his injuries were. It has been an emotional learning experience for him.
My Pastor and his wife have retired, moved to the opposite side of California and now there is this huge emptiness in my heart. I don't think I allowed myself to accept their departure until after it happened. Then it came crashing down in shreds of pieces. I just got off the phone with Mrs. Pastor (Wanda Mom) and didn't let myslf cry until we hung up. She sounds SO happy and peaceful I just couldn't ruin it with my sobs. I can't believe how selfish I feel about them, it's embarrassing and immature. Their children are very blessed to have two such precious people now permanently in their lives. I am green with envy. So, now...how are you?

Bragging rights for birthing your son. Too funny! I love it.
San Fran is a little bit of magic. Hope you had a good time.
It isn't selfish to miss your Pastor and his lovely wife, not really. The Lord blesses us with His infinite wisdom and puts wonderful people in our lives, sometimes only for a season though and it is hard to let me go and be where they need to be because they give so much to us.
I feel the same way about my church. Our pastpr and his wife are both amazing, lovely, totally available souls and it makes all the difference.

Oh, Mark..yes I remember Mark and what happened to him....Gosh' how time flies just so fast. I'm truly happy for him.

I took a little peek at your pastor and his wife's home..It's really nice...and isn't it just wonderful that through blogging you can still see what's going on in each other's lives?..

And I also read through your San Francisco travels. Everything is just so beautiful....just so beautiful.

Congrats to your son and I can relate to the furniture ordering. I hope you are happy with your order, sounds like you are! I know what it's like to lose a pastor who really ministers to you. They will always have a place in your heart!

Good Morning!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit, I am doing well, thanks for asking ;)

I think it's amazing how Mark has recovered and found a way to give back and use his experiences from that awful car accident! It's hard to believe that he has recovered so amazingly! God, you and he are all entitled to bragging rights!

Our Pastor while he's not retiring, is going to start a 90 day, well-earned sabbatical later this month. I hate to think he won't be preaching and teaching each Sunday but I know that he needs to recharge his batteries and be with his family for a season.

Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Connie

Thanks to you I am better than I was prior to reading your posting.

Bragging rights are in order.

I am proud of the progress Mark is making in his recuperation and studies. He is such a wonderful young man. Of course my view of him comes from a person who has a natural bias. snicker.

Your comments about the pastor and his wife moving reminded me about this statement in the Messiah's Handbook.

Btw, great photos of beautiful people.

Oh my sweet darling Darlene ~~ now I'm the one sobbing!! After I got off the phone with you, I was thinking how selfish I was to rant and rave about my life, when you were trying to recover from your trip....I just wanted to jump up on your couch, with you and your little dog, and visit like we used too. I will never be far away ~~my calling card is in my pocket.
I'm so so so proud of Mark ~~ Give that boy a huge hug from me!
I will call you soon!!
I read your blog to Dad and he sends all his love too.
Love and Hugs forever
Wanda Mom and Pastor Dad
***you are not selfish Dar ~~ you are just my daughter by distance now.

I have seen your couch and I think they are beautiful. The red wall also matches perfectly. You don't need to change it. I would tell you if you needed to. Really.

Hip Hooray Mark! :) a student teacher... hmmm ~ I think the young ladies are going to have a hard time keeping their minds on their studies. giggle
I am so proud of him!

I miss Wanda Mom too! We can always go and see her.

Having basically been gone from Blogland for a week, I've missed a lot, but it is good to be back. What a lovely post.

We were included in a family get together or two this weekend and it made me very melancholy for a day as I realized how much I've missed having my family around, much. (Not that I'm moving to Kansas anytime soon!) But I can understand what a big hole Wanda Mom leaving the area has made in your life. I'm sure her sweetie is a super pastor! They make such a snuggle nest in your heart when they are such super people, don't they. So, I'm fine and wondering what God is trying to show and tell me in a gentle way so He and I can get on with it. Love and best wishes to all of you.

Congratulations to your son and mothers deserve all of the bragging rights! I know exactly what you mean about your pastor. Our rector moved to the other side of the U.S. and he was so instrumental in the lives of my children. There are just some footprints that people leave that cannot be filled by others in our journey. I rejoice for them, but weep for myself. What a gift people like that are in our journey.

congrats to your son, I agree with my niece Angela Marie, I think the girls may not be able to concentrate on their studies (Your son is handsome!) it is natural to miss someone dear to you when they move away, but at least they are keeping in touch and I know you will see them

and I know that they are in your heart and you are in their's
(((hugs)))
