Springs beauty springs a plan
We have a huge rosemary bush in our back yard and I recently discovered just how much I enjoy it's smell. Taking the big pitcher and filling it up good with rosemary stalks and a few pink & purple roses here and there, really made an airy dainty centerpiece for the kitchen.
We are getting ready for vacation at the beach in June, well, not all of us get ready 2 months in advance, just me. Whenever I think about it, I'm squealing on the inside. But for Summer in general, I always like to pick out a few good books for the season to relax in.
I enjoy taking #1. a serious book and Jack K (One's Mans View) Tolle's A New Earth intrigued me. Sounds earthy Jack! :)

But you've got to love #2. the no brainer, reading for fun's sake book. I have heard much ado about Stephenie Meyers, "Twilight" series. If anyone has read this, or talked to some one who has, please tell me what you think about it. (Yes, I already know it's a Young Adult section book, but many adults are also reading it.)
Then I always need a #3 and I an clueless as to that one....any suggestions would be wonderful! I really appreciate your input :) Thank YOU

How about The Impressionist by Hari Kunzru?
This is one of the best books I've ever read...
My all time favorite book is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. It is a quick read. Funny, so smart, beautiful. A love story.
My heart sings just thinking about it.
Sigh.
The World to Come by Dara Horn. Totally unexpected read. I really enjoyed it.
I love Young Adult Fiction! Sarah Dessen is one of my fave authors. Anything by her is great but I loved The Truth About Forever.
Have you read The Lovely Bones? Quite possibly the hardest book to read but also in the end one of the loveliest. I am an avid reader and it took me TWO years to read it simply for the emotional impact. But the final message is so worth it. Besides it had the most fabulous cover that I would stroke its silky smoothness while reading. :)

Garden Spells by Sarah Allen was my favorite book I read last year.
My favorite so far this year has been The Girl Who Stopped Swimming, by Joshilyn Jackson.
FWIW, both are Southern writers and both books are novels about family, both with a touch of magic realism or Southern Gothic.
Or you could go to www.bookcrossing.com and ask booklovers all over the world for tips.
I think I might read your # 1 and #2
I hope you have a great beach vacation!
I always love going to the beach
hugs
I have read 2 out of the 3 in that series. It's quick, fun and like you said, worry- free. I'm on the last one- will read it sometime in the future, but I got worn out of the teenage angst a bit.
Oh, and I just read The Wood Wife by Teri Windling- it was beautiful and am now reading "You Can Heal Your Life," by Louise L. Hay.
Thank you all so much for the book list....
...I can see I have a lot of reading to do, they all sound so yummy!
I love Books just as much as I love shoes!
:) love to you all

i loved the twilight series. in fact, i read all 3 in about 5 days. they are quick, fun, and light.
great vacation reads!
a beach vacation sounds fabulous. i hope yours is lovely.
I'm reading the secret life of bees right now. and am enjoying it.
Also about half way through Tolle's book. hmm, not sure what to say about it. A few pages at a time is all I can digest.
Tolle's bookis so profound. I have read it twice and found it to give different things each time around. Enjoy. Great blog!
