among thorns

situations can be celebrated but
this is not one of them for
too many days have been allowed to
flitter away into nothingness and I
don't pretend to understand it all so
long ago I stopped asking why or
expected anyone to hold my hand while
sitting here in the middle surrounded by
all these thorns that feel like an enemy who
consistently tests my ability to hang
onto the big dreamer born
inside that took up residence in
my hearts
desire

Wow! This is one cool and non-serene poem. Very good. I hope the thorns dry up and drop off reavealing a beautiful dreamer within and not a prickly cactus. Sigh!

Oh my goodness Dar-your banner is so lovely. I have to have your sister work on one for me:)

I am sad reading this post-thinking things must be rough and prickly is disheartening. I am sending you lots of healing energy and love.

The brightness of the heart
outshines the thorns.

Peace and love to you, who gives it so easily.

Peacocks eat thorns. They are what produce their magnificent colors.

i, and many others with me, are happy to stretch our arms out through the thorns and hold your hand. and while our eyes are closed, squeeded tight, those thorns will shrivel and die. and when you open your eyes they'll be gone.
