thankful for...

a loving husband
two healthy kids
my fabulous mom and dad
and Mark
two awesome sisters
wonderful extended family
faithful friends
and Mark
a roof over my head
food in the fridge
my doggies
good health insurance
paid bills
and Mark
a free country
a good God
and I'm sure there is more

but, I have to say that I am extra thankful for my son Mark's life...that he is here on this Earth and going to school, excited about his future, that he even has a future to be excited about and he has such a great attitude, regardless of his physical setbacks. This last year, my mind has deeply pondered the fact that we almost lost him last December and every time I actually see him, my heart skips a beat. His big smile and bright eyes bring me such peace. He has become a hero to me and oh yes, this mother is so grateful and thankful for his life.

darlene ... i cannot believe that was a year ago! so much about that experience prepared me for a similar event that happened in my life not three months ago ... you were who i thought of first, your strength and love.

I feel that Mark is a tiny bit mine too, for all the hours I prayed for him. I'm so thankful that this year is soooooooo different from last year at this time--well almost this time. Thanksgiving is such a great day to be really thankful! Love each other a lot and for me too!

I'm thankful that through Mark I met not only him, but a tremendous family. An extended family.

I have to say that I'm thankful for Mark, too. I'm thankful for your story - for God letting me be one of the silent (and not so silent) supporters during your hell. I'm thankful that God let me watch your miracle. Because watching you struggle - watching him fight - and then watching God lift your whole family...that was a miracle that boosted my faith like you wouldn't believe. And the timing of that got my faith kick started just in time for my own crisis. And I'm thankful that, in your disaster, you still were able to reach out and support ME. You and your whole family are so beautiful. I am also thankful to Trish for sending me over to your blog to support you and Mark. I doubt she knew the friendships she'd be building with that one simple prayer request!

Love you beautiful!
