The Show
on this particular warm breezy day
in my own back yard, under trees, I did lay
a towel beneath me, the skyline so sharp
all nature was playing a musical harp
the branches were plucking, the strings, whisper light
the movement, astounding, a magical sight.
the wind would be subtle, the dancing would slow
then burst into action, increasing its flow
each pigment, alive and quite here to perform
undulate, weaving in colors adorned
I savored the moment and felt entertained
by trees and their branches, leaves, colors ordained
much later, I pondered this beautiful sight
and thanked God for colors beyond black and white
and thanked God
for colors beyond
black and white

How beautiful. I often thank God for my sight and the fact that I can see all the colors and depth.
National Poetry Month agrees with you :D There is no time better than spring to enjoy the many colors of nature. Thanks for sharing the beauty in your own yard.

Wonderful poem and so joyful.
Lovely...you reminded me that I need to take time to do one of my favorite things, which is to lie on a blanket with a tree between me and the endless blue sky. I used to do a lot of it when I had little babies rolling around.
Stunning image. I love colour, if that isn't a really dumb thing to say, but you know, the really colourful colours rock!
Hope you're well, Jx

Again, your words resonate, but this time for a slightly different reason. As you enter your spring, we are entering our autumn, which in Australia, mainly due to the large amount of native trees, is not as colourful or dramatic as it is in your country.
But, the suburb where my children go to school, is covered in maples and other assorted shedding trees, and at the moment, it is beginning that riotous show of bright reds, oranges and yellow!
Absolutely stunning, and yes, the kids and I often stop and give praise for all that God has given, especially beyond black and white!
As a matter of fact, we were given a lot of strange looks when we were spotted by other parents marvelling at the beauty of one particular tree for about five minutes. The three of us simply could not get enough of the colours!
and what a beautiful show it is you have revealed with your lovely words ...
:)
I love that we have color. I've read somewhere that they aren't sure the first humans saw in color. Now it might be good for seeing movement and surivival in low light conditions, but I'm so glad we have color!
still thinking of you...and still love your words...
The colors are amazing this spring!
Nature is truly an amazing gift. Thank God. xoxo, Deb
