The Reward

This cactus
is a 6 year
old friend.

She's not even
in full bloom
yet. Many baby
buds will soon
pop.

The color is
so vibrant
it hurts my
eyes.

I have not
enhanced these
colors at all.
Now THAT would
be a RED room!

This little
girl is only
2 and her 1st
time in bloom.

I'm
so
proud
and
delighted.

These grow in
perfect rings
around the
top. Each year
a new row
appears.

Notice how the
tines completely
protect the bud
until it blooms.
It also grows
an angel hair
like substance
to ward off water
and insects.
Such a clever
Creator.

This sweetie also
is a first time
bloomer. She was
knocked over 2
years ago and I
thought I was
going to loose her
from re-planting
shock. She looks
a little shy :)

The white is
so pure against
the vivid red.

And so ends our
cactus lesson
for the day.
I hope these
spring beauties
encourage you to
warm up to
the more prickly
side of nature.
They're not too
fond of being
touched...but
they'll give you
a feast for the
eyes.

Darlene,
The cacti are so beautiful. Are they in pots or the ground? They are a lovely start to my rather cold and stormy day here on Cape Cod MA.
So happy to hear that Mark is driving and happy! No doubt the result of all your love.
Do hope your health is improving.
You are in my thoughts each day.

I do love cacti. I do have a problem with over watering(woops)
You however have done a stunning job with all the things you love.

There is beauty all around us but how often do we rush past it or have a pre-conceived notion about what beauty is? To some, they wouldn't give cacti a second thought because of their spines and prickliness. However, looking closer you'd see the beauty within. Kind of a lot like people don't you think?

Unbelievable. Thank you for that reminder of how God clothes the flowers. He will surely cover me.

They are indeed beautiful!

gorgeous pics!

Diandra was so bummed, her lunch date with Mark didn't happen. :( He wasn't feeling well. She understood though and felt bad for him.

They are going to try again later! ;)

It was good to see his truck in front of your house!

love you

Darlene:

Your photo's should be in a gallery! They are so magnificent!

And I love the story of each, it gives them such personality..like you and your cacti have a personal relationship. No wonder they do so good, they are loved by you.

Good news on Mark.....driving?? ((Yeah))

Loving you!
