"A Charmed Life"

*** Angel in need

Seven weeks have passed since Mark's car accident and I can say that it doesn't take very long to realize that we all live charmed lives. I don't have an answer for the bad things that happen, but I can truthfully say that given just a little time and faith, the blessings and gems begin to crop up.

I can tell you that more days than not, Mark wakes up with a smile. I can tell you that when my eyes fill with his image, I feel peace. I can tell you that we are never alone, nor should we entertain the idea that we are alone...this is impossible. Through our connections and the love of mankind for one another that we feel deep down inside, with all of our bloggie family, our battles become bearable as each one of us takes away their willing piece of the discomfort.

I am only just now slowing down enough to finally stand back and see some of the big picture...and indeed, it resembles a puzzle. We are the pieces, we are the blessings, we are the charms.

And with each other...we all live charmed lives and in the end, we get to open the surprise that has been neatly prepared for us to share.

I feel so deeply grateful to be part of such a diverse family, that all share the commom emotion of love.

Think about the charms in your life today :)

*** please pray for the sweet boy of nina beana...go there and look at his adorable face, read his short story and let it tug at your heart. He is an angel on earth that needs our love, as does his momma. Thank You ***Darlene

What a beautiful analogy of what your have been passing through, Darlene.
Just last night, as I got in bed and prepared to do a little meditation on the many gifts of the day, I was thinking, "I lead a charmed life". I feel so blessed to be able to see all the gifts, and it is lovely to see that you have the same ability. Such beautiful healing. The "picture" of Mark smiling is beautiful.
So happy for you all.
Continued peace, joy, health and love to you and your family.
Heading out to work....near zero here this morning but the sun will shine!!

Yes Darlene I totally agree. I know my life has always been charmed and I've just started a new charm braclet of bloggie friends/charms that I cherish. I feel very fortunate to be able to look at the treasures in my life and see them as just that.
I'm so happy that Mark is smiling and finding wonder*filled things to fill his life with.
Sending up prayers and lots of love for you and yours this beautiful morning.

Darlene, I'm so happy to hear you sounding so much better. My cousin suffers from Lupus and through your struggles I have learnt what she goes through. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us.
The "picture" of Mark smiling makes my day.

What a wonderful sentiment. And it is SO TRUE. We are all part of a grander whole. Now if we could just get some of our fellow-passengers to understand that love is a much better tool than any weapon they can dream up.

Thanks for calling on us for strength and compassion. Doing so makes us all stronger.

Love and hugs from us all.

It is so good to hear that Mark is smiling and (according to Angela's comment here) able to indulge in some social fun again.

The people who have stepped forward here in your comments have become charms in my own life. It is easy to become discouraged with all that the world put on our doorstep each day, but support people have given to you and your family brings the optimism roaring right back to reclaim its rightful place.

Sending a dose of bloggy love--xoxo Star

I still check you blog every day to see how you are doing. I'm glad to read that Mark has a smile on his face more days that not. I think of my own kind of charm bracelet, and I am amazed at God's faithfulness. My charms are mostly made up of my family, with a few major life experiences here and there, with a couple of nice moments thrown in for fun. Thank you for that visual example about the blessings we have in our lives.

It's so good to hear about Mark starting to smile more each day. He is a special man. You know Darlene, I, as many people, have had my share of tramatic things that happened to me in my childhood--things that have certainly had negative effects on my life--but I can also see how those exact things also played an important role in the kind of person I am today. And despite all the those things, despite the emotional and spiritual pain--I have always felt that my life has been blessed from the beginning and today, reading your post helped me to realize that all our lifes are blessed and charmed. Every single thing that happens in our lives, as horrible and it may be, has the potential for helping us grow spiritually and get closer to God. I like the imagery of all of us being a charm in the wonderous chain of humanity. Much love to you and yours,
