A Fragrance * The Prayers of Children

The Prayers of the Children
They float up to heaven on the wings of their guardian angels
and their fragrance is that unknown to man,
these prayers of children.
Innocent and untainted, they flood the heavenlies with pure faith
and rest in the arms of comfort and peace,
for they have no doubt to battle with
or fainting idea's that unwind their requests.
Is there any question then,
that the wisest most powerful prayers
are those of the children.

2007 has started with an intended journey, not the kind you plan, or ask for, that other kind. The kind that tills your soil, digs down deep to churn the very core of who you are, or think you are. Because I enjoy learning so much, I find most journeys interesting, knowing that the lessons learned will be well worth every worn out pair of shoes it takes to finish. However, this journey includes my entire family, not one of us is being dismissed from this course. I end every day in tears, sometimes they are happy, sometimes not. You know the story and many of you have worn your own shoes out with me on this one. You have done the traveling and felt the pain and weariness that sinks way deep into your bones. But did you know that we have had special visitors accompany us? Did you know they were small of stature, tiny feet and hands, wide eyes full of wonder. They ran in from being outdoors and they smelled like wet dogs. They randomly checked in on you just for a kiss that left wet, red kool-aid on your cheek. They saw you crying and they stopped what they were doing and immediately wanted to know what was wrong? Many of you shared some stories with me about your children and the impact Marks story had on them. Some of you showed them Marks pictures on your computers, explained what happened to him and that now, all these people all over the world were lighting candles, saying prayers and making good wishes come his way, so that Mark could get better. Well...........

They wanted to help too. Their innocent pure hearts wanted to get involved and so they put on their best walking shoes and got in line right along side of you and me. Through these tiny warriors, Mark got blessed at bedtimes, dinner tables, on couches holding hands with their mommy's and some of them even participated in a prayer vigil that this wonderful woman arranged for all of us to gather in an organized effort. I stood in my back yard with my jams on in Marks behalf. It was a sunny late morning and the birds in my back yard hushed their songs for an important moment. I cried.
Mother's...please tell your children that Mark's Mommy is very grateful for their beautiful, lovely prayers. Show them my profile picture and say, "That Moma right there thinks you are the most wonderful child in this entire world." And I mean that. Each story that has been told to me, each comment touches me so deeply that I read them all through bleary eyes. I have been crying so much these last few days. Grateful tears that fall safely on the shoulders of all of you and the children.
I have a bff...yes, even us 40 somethings have Fristers that run to get you Starbucks when you can't. She also is my neighbor, 2 doors down. She has been reading many of you for months and finally took the plunge...yes, she is a bloggette and you cand find her here. It will be a Sweet Surrender, I'm sure!

I to joined in this meditation and used it as intercessory prayer time for Mark, it touched my soul so deeply that I have not been able to put it into words.
I like using a picture as a focal point of my meditation sometimes and I used a picture of children/angels for this very reason, when angels sing God dances and I do believe he is doing a healing dance for Mark every time an angels/child sings to him.

Healing blessings to you all,
xoxo,
Sheila

Hey Gorgeous :)

The meditation was a wonderful experience for me and I hope for you, Mark & the rest of the family too.

My boy asks every day now about Mark's progress, and celebrates with me over every step in the right direction. He thinks you are amazing, and wonders how come you look so much younger than I do! ;)

Love & Healing Hugs from the both of us. Thanks for the link to Angela's blog, give her a hug from me, too. (((Fristers)))

The first thing I do when I get up is say to my little seven yr old, come on lets see how Mark is doing, as the computer is loading I can almost hear her silent prayers " let him be better today, let him be better..."

Riley, who is a great reader turned to Seth and said, "Darlene really loves to learn."

Darlene, something magical and sacred has been happening as a result of Mark's horrible accident. Nothing, absolutely nothing, in this world happens for no reason and I am honored to be a part of this. Thank you so much for your loving acknowledgement of us. We all have one thing in common--Mark's recovery. And also your good health so you can walk that long road along with him. Much love to you all.

Darlene, although I haven't been veering out of Bloglines to comment in awhile, just wanted to let you know that I've been reading all of your posts...and holding good thoughts for Mark's healing. It will be a journey indeed...sometimes our lessons arrive in hugely unexpected packages. May you find the joys in this one...because amid the tears and pain, no doubt there will be some...there always are. xoxo

I have, on this day, been led by some One to your blog for the first time. I have spent the day, literally, from the first moment of Mark's accident, to this moment in time. I have had to take breaks from it---I have no words, the tears have spilled, I'm cheering all of you on. And I feel that our's, that didn't make it, is up there pushing and cheering Mark on in his struggle for life. My heart and my mind are too full of the enormity of it all to be able to set out anything in words but heartful prayers are going up from me, and I send huge quilty hugs to wrap all of you in. I'll be back. Thank you, all of you, for being there...

There is just something so special about sharing one's grief and hope- it can be so healing, not just for the person going through it all, but for everyone that takes the time to care and be a part of the process. We all love you, Darlene, and feel blessed by your courage. You are our inspiration for times when we need help- I know I will never forget being with you and Mark on this journey. Thank you for including me...

The meditation was an amazing experience for me, Darlene. Outside, despite the cold and wind, I was warm and comfortable and Mark's candle remained lit. I felt the community of souls gathered. Felt them in my bones and my heart and my soul.

You mentioned the birds in your yard quieted. The dozens of geese gathered on my pond were still and quiet during the meditation, too. It really was as though they sensed the gathering, too.

How wonderful of you to think of thanking the children. I, too, believe their prayers are special. There will be many happy little ones today, hearing your words.

Blessings today as always. Godspeed to Mark and to you.

I check daily on Mark's progress. I am so glad to read he is making such marvelous progress. I know it must seem like slow progress, but it is truly miraculous that he has been able to heal and overcome such monumental obstacles.

I am glad that you have such a wonderful support group. Best wishes for continued healing for you and your family, both physically and emotionally.

I've told you before that your site has been ministering to me for a while. My boys know an abbreviated version of Mark's story. They were very concerned. Your words still minister to me. You are such an amazing person. I imagine that translates to your whole family.

God continue to bless you in the most amazing ways.
