While Walking Alone

The shadow came first
stretched out on the sidewalk
distorted and larger than the truth.

Right above is the authentic appendage
dripping with their slices of red, like blood
begging for attention and going
out on a limb.

As you can see, I have been using this time of year and the close observance of Halloween, to allow the gruesome corner of my writing mind, to indulge in some scary poems. No, it is not my most favorite subject matter, but I have never allowed myself this indulgence. I don't consider any of these past few days good writing...but I have been giggling a lot :D (hee hee)

I think it's wonderful that you're stretching your writing self; it's something I need to do. I'm not a Halloweeny person but love the harvest aspect of fall. You have one more ghoulish day left; will there be another deep, dark post?

Awesome! I totally love it. You are so creative and brave. I haven't the guts to put my fiction (I can't write poetry) on my blog. One of these days, maybe.

I don't think that it is bad writing at all; you are just letting go of some things. And, what better time to do it? Your photo is beautiful!!!
