"The Road"

Considering the road life has chosen for me
I would have chosen another
and might have missed
this lesson
of suffering

Considering the suffering I have been through
I would have chosen ease
and might have missed
this experience
of patience

Considering the patience I have acquired
I would have chosen health
and might have missed
this emotion
of empathy

Considering the empathy I now experience
I would have chosen comfort
and might have missed
the greatest lessons
of life

Considering the road life has chosen for me
I choose this road too
and have not missed
the ease of health and comfort
that seem to pass over
the understanding of empathy

If our world were only perfect, we would miss some of lifes most important lessons along the way. We would never learn from adversity..from pain.. from sorrow.

You have such courage and strength. And you are looking at the beauty that comes from this.

such grace...you Darlene.

thankyou my sweet dear friend

I am praying for you

Beautiful, wonderful thoughts -- it's so true, that our experiences enrich us so much, and the things we would wish away in a heartbeat, like illness, can shape us in such profound ways. Beautifully said!

what a powerful, honest and moving piece of writing. It must be so hard to come to any sort of understanding or acceptance when you are in so much pain. I send you hugs and a wish for an easing. Love to you.
